About the event

For any kids aged 8 to 12 that want to play, PortlandPlays will be running online D&D games several times a week at 2:00pm and running until 4:30pm

If you’d like to have your kids join, here’s what they will need….

  • A computer with internet access
  • A microphone
  • An account set up for them on www.roll20.net – this is a free website and is what we use to show maps, roll dice, etc.
  • An account setup on Discord.com – this is vocal and text chat software.
  • No Dungeons & Dragons experience needed but some level of comfort using a computer is needed. We use a web browser to play and kids need to know how to right&left click, click and drag icons and close browser windows.  I'm happy to help them learn to play within a browser but need them to know what I mean when I say things like "click that icon".

If you have a webcam available, it makes it so the players can actually see each other and I’ve found makes it feel much more like friends sitting around a table.  It’s not necessary but does add quite a bit to the experience.  The webcam integration is built into Roll20.net so no additional software is required for that.

Tickets

  • Online D&D Tuesday group

(Full) These sessions are free, I just want the kids to still be able to laugh and talk with other kids during this forced isolation. If you feel obliged to tip, either go do something nice for someone or you can send me a couple bucks for quarantine-beer through PayPal. I will run them as long as the kids are interested and nothing comes up to interrupt my time.
